Blumhouse and AMC are teaming up together for a special “Halfway to Halloween” film festival that launches on March 29….
Halloween may be six months away but Blumhouse and AMC Theaters are ready to celebrate a little early.
The “Halfway to Halloween” film festival will launch on March 29 as the prolific studio best known for producing films such as the “Halloween” trilogy and “The Purge” films teams up with AMC with numerous horror films being re-released into theaters for this special occasion.
The series will be anchored by the 13th anniversary release of “Insidious,” which was directed by James Wan and actually ranked among the scariest films in history — as proven by science! “Insidious” was also the first film where Blumhouse teamed up with Wan’s production company Atomic Monster before the two studios joined forces in a merger earlier this year.
Fans can attend screenings with discounted tickets at just $8 for all of the movies being re-released into theaters in over 40 cities and 100 AMC movie theaters. Here are the dates and the films being released for the “Halfway to Halloween” film festival:
Friday, March 29 – Sinister
Saturday, March 30 – The Purge
Sunday, March 31 – Ouija: Origin of Evil
Monday, April 1 – Insidious (13th year anniversary of the movie’s opening)
Tuesday, April 2 – The Invisible Man
“We wanted to celebrate local communities of horror fans throughout the country with a fun, affordable and slightly evil night at the movies,” Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum said in a press release. “We’re grateful to our partners at AMC for helping us bring this idea to life.”
