The news comes just days ahead of the release of the new horror film “Night Swim” starring Wyatt Russell, which was produced by both Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. The two studios also previously worked together on the surprise horror hit “M3GAN” that opened in early 2023.
While the two companies are now merged together, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will still operate independently when it comes to creative autonomy and brand identity for future projects. The studios will work together, especially when it comes to developing plans for expansion across film, television, video games and other offshoots for future projects.
Atomic Monster will also benefit from Blumhouse’s existing overall deal with Universal Pictures, which serves as the distributor for all of the studio’s films and TV series.
Blumhouse is best known for producing films such as the recent “Halloween” franchise as well as “The Black Phone,” “The Purge,” “Paranormal Activity” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s” while Atomic Monster is responsible for “The Conjuring” universe of films, which includes “The Nun” and “The Nun II” as well as the “Annabelle” films, and franchises such as “Insidious” and “Saw.”
