A fourth “Captain America” film is currently in the works with the showrunner behind “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” developing the new movie…

“Captain America 4” is currently in development from Marcus Spellman, who was the showrunner and the creative force behind the Disney+ hit series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”
New of the upcoming fourth “Captain America” film was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Spellman will be penning the script for the upcoming sequel alongside Dalan Musson, who was a staff writer on “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” as well.
While no official announcements have been made about the movie much less the cast, it seems almost a certainty that “Captain America 4” will pick up from the events that took place in “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which means it’s highly doubtful Chris Evans will be returning in any capacity for this movie outside of a potential cameo.
Instead, the latest sequel will feature Anthony Mackie in his role as the new Captain America as he officially picked up the shield and adopted the name that Steve Rogers carried so proudly during his lifetime.
The closing scenes in “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ saw Sam Wilson transform into the new Captain America with the final tagline for the series close with “Captain America and The Winter Soldier,” which could serve as a teaser for the actual title for this movie.
The series also introduced several new characters who could appear in the upcoming sequel including John Walker (Wyatt Russell), who became the U.S. Agent. in the season finale as well as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who was played by multi-time Emmy winner Julia-Louis Dreyfus. The series also turned Sharon Carter into a double agent after she was revealed as the mysterious Power Broker during the season finale.
Of course, Marvel is staying very tight lipped in plans for the future but given the success of the series, it seems like a no brainer to have Mackie and Sebastian Stan return for “Captain America 4.”
