The upcoming “Addams Family” spinoff series “Wednesday” has found the lead character’s parents.
The series from Al Gough and Miles Millar with Tim Burton on board to direct will be based around Wednesday Addams (being played by Jenna Ortega), which is a supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
Now the roles of Wednesday’s parents have been cast.
Meet Morticia and Gomez

Catherine Zeta-Jones — best known for her past roles in films such as “Traffic,” “The Mask of Zorro” and “High Fidelity” — will portray Morticia Adamms, a role originated by actress Carolyn Jones in the original TV series.
Meanwhile, Luis Guzman — best known for his appearances in films such as “Boogie Nights,” “Anger Management” and “Magnolia” — will play her husband Gomez Addams. John Astin played Gomez in the original television series
Burton will direct the new series, which was given an eight-episode order by Netflix.
Production on the series is expected to start later this year with a premiere date still to be determined.
