“Cobra Kai” has already been renewed for season 4 on Netflix with the third season of the show set to debut in early 2021…
“Cobra Kai” has already been a massive hit for Netflix so it didn’t take long for the streaming service to order another season of “The Karate Kid” spinoff series.
Netflix has officially renewed “Cobra Kai” for season 4 with season 3 now set to debut on Jan. 8, 2021.
Production on “Cobra Kai” season 3 wrapped up months ago but the series was originally part of YouTube, who developed the show from Sony TV. When YouTube decided to get out of making original series, Sony shopped “Cobra Kai” around with several suitors showing interest but ultimately Netflix made the most enticing offer.
Netflix also attained the rights to the first two seasons of “Cobra Kai” and the show has been near the top of ratings for the streaming service ever since. Needless to say, it didn’t take much convincing for Netflix to double down on the show and order another season.
“Cobra Kai” picks up 30 years after the events in “The Karate Kid” with Daniel LaRusso now a successful businessman who owns several car dealerships while his former high school bully Johnny Lawrence is a down on his luck washout, who decides to rekindle his passion for martial arts by opening a new Cobra Kai academy. That immediately rekindles the rivalry with Daniel trying to find his way back to the karate Mr. Miyagi taught him before passing away while Johnny attempts to create a new life for himself while teaching a new generation of Cobra Kai students.
The first teaser for “Cobra Kai” season 3 was also included in the announcement, which teases the cliffhanger from the end of season 2. Check out the clip and get ready for “Cobra Kai” to return on Netflix on Jan. 8, 2021.
