The much beloved “Karate Kid” spinoff “Cobra Kai” is officially coming to an end with the sixth and final season on the way at Netflix…
“Cobra Kai” is returning for one last roundhouse kick.
The hugely popular series based on “The Karate Kid” films has officially been renewed for a sixth and final season on Netflix. The streaming service made the announcement on Friday along with a special video that teased the upcoming final season.
The creators behind “Cobra Kai” — Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg — also released a message regarding the final season:
“Reacquainting the world with ‘The Karate Kid’ universe has been our humble honor,” the joint statement said. “Making ‘Cobra Kai’ has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the amazing original cast members. It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.
“Our day one goal with ‘Cobra Kai’ has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined. So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement. The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of ‘Cobra Kai.’ While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger. This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more ‘Karate Kid’ stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.”

The statement ended with a promise that “Cobra Kai” season 6 would be the “biggest season of Cobra Kai yet,” which should get fans excited before the first look at the final episodes even arrives.
When “Cobra Kai” ended in season 5, Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence were able to team up and finally defeat Terry Silver — the evil toxic waste magnate who returned from “Karate Kid Part III” and took over the Cobra Kai dojos from his friend and mentor John Kreese. Of course, Kreese also escaped from jail after Silver framed him for several crimes, which means he’ll surely pop up at some point during the final season.
The season also teased members from the various dojos traveling to a huge worldwide karate tournament that will likely serve as the big finale for the series.
There will surely be plenty of surprises in store for this final season so get ready when “Cobra Kai” returns for one last ride.
