The first trailer for ‘Cobra Kai’ season 2 has arrived as Johnny and Daniel go head-to-head once again as Sensei John Kreese returns to his old stomping grounds…
‘Cobra Kai’ is back.
The first trailer for the upcoming second season of ‘The Karate Kid’ spinoff series has arrived along with the debut date — April 24 — when all of the episodes debut on YouTube (subscription service required).
‘Cobra Kai’ debuted last year to rave reviews as the series carried on the legacy of the original ‘Karate Kid’ films, this time focused on Johnny Lawrence, the once promising karate champion who suffered a loss in the 1984 All Valley Karate tournament finals to Daniel LaRusso.
When the story picks up more than 30 years later, Johnny restarts the Cobra Kai dojo as a way to get his life back on track but his rivalry with Daniel is quickly reignited when he begins teaching his style of karate to the kids in town. That forces Daniel to step away from his successful car dealership business to begin teaching again as he takes Johnny’s own son under his wing by instructing him in the ways of Miyagi-do karate.
At the end of the first season following a win by the Cobra Kai dojo in the All-Valley tournament, Johnny is visited by a ghost from his past when Sensei John Kreese makes his return to the school he helped to found.
Meanwhile as season 2 gets underway, the rivalry between Johnny and Daniel only grows more hostile after Daniel decides to open his own karate studio in town where he promises to teach kids for free.
