“Cobra Kai” season 5 will feature the return of another “Karate Kid III” villain as Sean Kanan returns as “Karate’s Bad Boy” Mike Barnes…
“Your karate’s a joke!”
With “Cobra Kai” season 5 set to premiere on Netflix on September 9, another villain from the past is returning to the battle for the heart of the valley.
Sean Kanan — who portrayed “Karate’s Bad Boy” Mike Barnes in “Karate Kid IIII” — is set to reprise his role for the upcoming fifth season of the series.

Kanan, who went onto star in a pair of daytime dramas including “General Hospital” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” will join fellow “Karate Kid III” star Thomas Ian Griffith, who returned during “Cobra Kai” season 4 to play villainous leader Terry Silver.
Back in “Karate Kid III,” Silver hired Mike Barnes to serve as an obstacle for Daniel LaRusso winning another All-Valley Tournament title.
There’s no word yet how exactly Barnes will play into the new season, although Silver probably needs a hired gun again after he orchestrated the arrest of his friend John Kreese at the end of “Cobra Kai” season 4.
“As Terry Silver calls upon some old friends to put the Valley in a stranglehold, Daniel and Johnny are going to need all the help they can get to stop Cobra Kai in its tracks,” showrunners Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg told Netflix.
“Cobra Kai” season 5 will debut in its entirety on Sept. 9 on Netflix.
