‘Counterpart’ has officially come to an end after Starz cancelled the sci-fi spy series and the studio behind the show couldn’t find a home elsewhere for season 3…
The crossing has officially closed forever.
‘Counterpart’ — the critically acclaimed science fiction/spy espionage series from creator Justin Marks — was cancelled after two seasons on Starz but the studio behind the series was attempting to find a potential new home for a third season.
Unfortunately, while negotiations came close, no deal was struck and with that ‘Counterpart’ has officially come to an end.
Marks revealed the sad news in a series of tweets while teasing his next project is already in the works in the near future.

‘Counterpart’ starred JK Simmons, Olivia Williams, Nazanin Boniadi and Harry Lloyd and received critical praise through both the freshman and sophomore seasons of the show but Starz apparently didn’t see enough return on investment when it came to ratings before cancelling the series.
Both seasons of ‘Counterpart’ are now available on digitally.
