“Crisis on Infinite Earths” will arrive next Sunday as part of a three night kick off for the five part series and the new trailer gives us the deepest look ahead at what will happen…
Superman meets Superman.
Batwoman reunites with Bruce Wayne.
Supergirl’s world is destroyed.
And that’s just a small part of what unfolds in the final full length trailer for “Crisis on Infinite Earths” — the massive five-part crossover series that will change the DC Arrowverse forever.
Parts 1-3 will kick off next Sunday night at 8 p.m ET on “Supergirl” before subsequent chapters debut on Monday night on “Batwoman” and then Tuesday night on “The Flash” before the final two episodes air in early January 2020 on “Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow”.
Unlike past crossovers, “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will be treated as a true five part series rather than episode specific stories, which means all of the major characters will play a part in every piece of this huge, crossover event.
The final trailer for “Crisis on Infinite Earths” gives us the best look yet at what is going to happen when the Anti-Monitor sets out to destroy the multiverse in order to collapse everything down into one world that he can rule with an iron fist. To stop the Anti-Monitor, his counterpart the Monitor has started to gather the greatest collection of heroes the universe has ever known in hopes of preventing the end of the multiverse as we know it.
Right away when the trailer kicks off it shows a tragic moment for Supergirl as Argo — the planet where her mother resides — is wiped out by the Anti-Monitor in his quest to destroy the multiverse. There’s a second clip later in the same trailer that shows Earth-38 has also been obliterated — and that is the home world where Supergirl and his friends reside.
One of the major theories revolving around “Crisis on Infinite Earths” is that the Arrowverse would finally collapse down to bring all of the heroes into one singular universe after both Supergirl and Batwoman exist in different parts of the multiverse from Green Arrow and the Flash.
The new trailer also shows Superman from Earth-38 (played by Tyler Hoechlin) show up in an alternate Earth universe where he tracks down Clark Kent from “Smallville” (as played by Tom Welling in a role he made famous for 10 seasons).
There’s also an interesting reunion with Kate Kate as Batwoman runs into Bruce Wayne (as played by Kevin Conroy) and it appears he’s suffered some kind of accident that has left him partially paralyzed. In “Batwoman,” Kate returns to Gotham City years after Batman left town without any explanation and she creates Batwoman as a new savior for the city while constantly writing letters to her cousin Bruce in hopes that he’ll return one day.
Finally, the Flash seeks out help from Black Lightning, who will also appear as part of the Arroverse for the first time ever.
