Another past face from the Netflix “Daredevil” series will be resurrected in “Daredevil: Born Again” with Wilson Bethel reprising his role as Bullseye…
“Daredevil: Born Again” has added another face from the past to the new cast for the upcoming series on Disney+.
Wilson Bethel — who portrayed Benjamin Poindexter before eventually becoming the psychopath with killer aim named Bullseye in the Netflix “Daredevil” series — will reprise that role for the new show that reunites past stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.
Bethel portrayed the classic Marvel villain in the third season of “Daredevil” and he’s expected to appear in at least three episodes of the new “Daredevil: Born Again” series in production.
“Daredevil: Born Again” will see Cox reprise his role as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil and D’Onofrio return as Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin for the new show. Previously, the show was expected to feature the same actors but effectively forget the past show on Netflix but those plans have now changed.
The original plan for the show was scrapped after filming had already started with Marvel Studios opting to bring in a new showrunner wtih a different creative vision for the series. The new version will remain connected to the Netflix series with those three seasons still serving as canon for “Daredevil: Born Again.”
Bethel is the latest actor to return for the new series with a number of rumors swirling that both Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Hanson will also be coming back as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.
We already know that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as The Punisher for the new series.
Filming is currently taking place on “Daredevil: Born Again” but no exact debut date has been announced just yet. Production on the show was previously underway but shut down to the writers and actors’ strikes but that also allowed time for the creative overhaul that restarted everything on the show to the new current version.
