Acclaimed director David Fincher is nearing a deal to direct the ‘World War Z’ sequel with Brad Pitt…
The ‘World War Z’ sequel may have just scored a major director.
David Fincher — best known for his work on ‘Fight Club’, ‘Se7en’ and ‘Gone Girl’ — is reportedly in deep talks to direct the upcoming ‘World War Z’ sequel starring Brad Pitt.
The project was first green lit after the original ‘World War Z’ film grossed over $540 million despite several setbacks and delays that ran the budget north of $190 million.
Unfortunately, the ‘World War Z’ sequel was then shelved as Paramount Pictures underwent a change in leadership as well as Pitt going through his divorce with Angelina Jolie.
Now it appears the ‘World War Z’ sequel is being reignited with Pitt wooing his old pal Fincher into signing on to direct the film.
Pitt and Fincher have worked together on three prior films including ‘Fight Club’, ‘Se7en’, and ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’. Most recently, Fincher received several award nominations for his work on the film ‘Gone Girl’ before working in television over the past couple of years.
If Fincher signs on, production on the ‘World War Z’ sequel could begin as early as 2018.
