Original ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller and comics legend Brian Michael Bendis are teaming together on a mystery ‘X-Men’ project for FOX…
There’s a new X-Men film in the works but it’s shrouded in mystery.
What we know is Tim Miller — who directed the original ‘Deadpool’ movie — is teaming up with comic book legend Brian Michael Bendis to develop a new ‘X-Men’ movie for FOX with very few details available right now.
It’s interesting timing for Bendis, who is expected to write the script for the project, considering he just recently cut ties with Marvel to ink a new contract to begin working for rival DC where he will be penning two separate Superman titles for the company.
Bendis has spent much of his career working at Marvel including a stints writing for the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Uncanny X-Men’. Bendis is also responsible for the creation of Miles Morales, who is Spider-Man in the Ultimate Marvel Universe as well as ‘Jessica Jones’, which later became the source material for the Netflix series starring Krysten Ritter.
Now there’s not much else known about this project other than it’s currently being titled ‘143’ but there’s no other details available at this time.
While it’s impossible to know for certain what that number means, ‘Uncanny X-Men’ No. 143 is an issue from 1963 where Kitty Pryde is left alone at the mansion where she battles a demon on her own. There had been rumors that a Kitty Pryde movie was in development at FOX so this could be just putting the two elements together to form a plausible theory but right now nothing is known for certain.
Miller is definitely keeping busy after dropping out of ‘Deadpool 2’ as he’s now helming the upcoming ‘Terminator’ sequel starring both Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger with original creator James Cameron overseeing the entire project.
