Clancy Brown will be clashing with Dexter Morgan as he joins the cast of the “Dexter” revival on its way to Showtime…
“Dexter” has found a new villain.
Clancy Brown — best known for his roles in films such as “The Shawshank Redemption” and “Highlander” as well as TV roles on series like “Billions” and “Carnivale” — has been cast in the lead role as the primary villain in the upcoming “Dexter” revival from Showtime.
Brown will play Kurt Caldwell, who is described as ” the unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake. He’s realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone – he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help you.”
Brown joins the cast for the upcoming reboot of “Dexter” with series star Michael C. Hall also set to return to lead the show.
Additional cast news is expected in the coming weeks with the two lead roles now in place for the upcoming limited series.
Of course, “Dexter” was a hugely popular show for Showtime during its eight season run that initially ended in 2013. A limited series revival was announced this past year with former showrunner Clyde Phillips set to return to lead the 10 episode run of the show.
“Dexter” is expected to start production soon with a debut date expected on Showtime in late 2021.
