‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ will feature plenty of iconic characters from the franchise including Edward Furlong returning to play John Connor…
The highly anticipated sequel ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ will land in theaters on November 1 and on Thursday a major addition to the cast was confirmed.
Edward Furlong — who portrayed future savior John Connor in ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ — will reprise his role for the upcoming sequel that serves as a direct connection to ‘T2’ while ignoring all of the other films featured since that time.
James Cameron, who acted as a consultant on the story for ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ made the announcement during the film’s panel at San Diego Comic Con on Thursday.
Several other actors have portrayed John Connor in different ‘Terminator’ films but the canon for the story is being reset only paying attention to the original ‘Terminator’ and ‘Terminator 2’, which featured Furlong in the role.
A new clip was also featured at the panel that was not released to the general public that showcased Sarah Connor’s arrival in the film as she helped save a different girl being hunted by a Terminator.
