Emma Roberts has already played a scream queen and now she’ll take a stab at playing a vampire.
The “Scream Queens” and “American Horror Story” star has signed onto star and produce a new vampire series called “First Kill” at Netflix.
The streaming service has already ordered an eight episode first season for the one-hour drama based on a short story from New York Times best selling author Victoria “V.E.” Schwab. Roberts’ production company Belletrist Productions won the bidding to obtain the rights to the series, which will be written by Schwab with Felicia D. Henderson (“The Punisher”) serving as showrunner.
Here’s the synopsis for “First Kill”
“When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette (Roberts) to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope. But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter, from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.”
In addition to the new role in the series “First Kill,” Roberts has a ton of other projects already in the works including another TV series called “Tell Me Lies,” which she is also starring and producing at Hulu.
