Ewan McGregor is officially picking up his lightsaber again to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new ‘Star Wars’ series on Disney+…
Ewan McGregor is officially returning as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi for a new series that will debut on Disney+.
The announcement was made on Friday during the D23 convention in California where McGregor appeared on stage to introduce his new show where he will reprise the character he played in three ‘Star Wars’ prequels.
According to the announcement, all the scripts for the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series have been written and production will begin on the series in the near future. The timeline for the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series was also revealed on Friday.
As expected, the new show will take place in between ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith’ and ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’ but the actual timeline for the different movies and series were all revealed during the panel on Friday.
As you can see, the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series will take place a few years after ‘Revenge of the Sith’ but still several years before ‘A New Hope’, which obviously makes sense given the Jedi Master’s age when Alec Guinness portrayed him in the original films. The new Obi-Wan led series will also take place in between the two timelines in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’.
Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi led series for Disney+ in the coming months as casting and production gets underway.
