The end of ‘Stranger Things’ season 2 saw Eleven return after spending the majority of the season abroad as she came back to help close the door between her new home in Hawkins, Indiana and the Upside Down world that lives on the other side of reality.
By closing the door, Eleven helped Will exorcize the demon living inside of him — a creature the kids came to call the Mind Flayer — and it appeared the day was saved.
But in the final trailer for ‘Stranger Things’ season 3, which debuts on July 4 on Netflix, the evil that was birthed in the Upside Down is far from defeated because it seems when Eleven shut the door she didn’t keep him out — she locked him inside with the rest of them.
While the first trailer was a tease at how life returned to normal in Hawkins before things start to spiral out of control again, the new trailer for ‘Stranger Things’ season 3 paints a much more dire picture of the battle ahead to save the world from the creature spawned from the Upside Down.
