The final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ has arrived after an emotional hour filled with reunions and shocking revelations set the tone for the final six episodes.
The last seconds of the debut episode showed Jamie Lannister arriving at Winterfell before locking eyes with Bran Stark — the boy he pushed out of a window several years ago in an attempt to keep his affair with his sister Cersei Lannister a secret. Now Jamie has transformed into a much different man but the sins of the past will still come back to haunt him.
In the preview video for the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ episode 2, Jamie stands before Daenerys Targaryen at Winterfell. She knows him best as the ‘Kingslayer’, the man who swore an oath to protect her father Aerys II Targaryen and then stabbed him in the back at the end of Robert’s Rebellion.
It appears Jamie will have to face many of his past transgressions before he’s welcomed into the North with open arms.
Meanwhile, Tormund Giantsbane also arrives at Winterfell after making the journey from Eastwatch-by-the-sea last season where the Night King was able to bring down the mighty Wall as he started his march towards the south. In the debut episode, Tormund made it to Last Hearth, the home of House Umber, which was left in ruins after the army of the dead marched through there.
Tormund has arrived to warn Jon Snow that the Night King will be knocking on his front door any day now and he better be prepared.
