The casting for the new ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel is moving fast with a second casting announcement on Wednesday….
The new ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel is moving along rather quickly now with the second big piece of casting news this week after Academy Award nominated actress Naomi Watts was added to the series on Tuesday.
The latest addition will be British actor Josh Whitehouse, who is best known for his role on the PBS series ‘Poldark’ as well as the upcoming ‘Valley Girl’ remake, and he will be in another leading role on the series.
Now obviously HBO and the producers behind the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel are staying tight lipped on details about the characters being cast currently but we do know the highly anticipated series from Jane Goldman and George R.R. Martin takes place thousands of years before the current series that is about to wrap up in 2019.
The new series is rumored to be about ‘The Long Night’ — a period of darkness in Westeros when the White Walkers first emerged from the north in an attempt to snuff out all life while battling against both mankind and the Children of the Forest.
With this latest piece of casting news, the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel appears to be moving along rather quickly.
The final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ is expected to air on HBO in 2019 with the prequel not expected to arrive until at least 2020.
