Read the letter from ‘Game of Thrones’ where Jon Snow declares his fealty to Daenerys Targaryen as the queen of Seven Kingdoms…
Jon Snow was only King in the North for a very short time as it turns out.
After Jon was unanimously voted in to be King in the North by the lords from the North last season, he ultimately decided to pledge his loyalty to Daenerys Targaryen after she risked her life to safe him from a dangerous journey beyond the Wall.
In the ‘Game of Thrones’ season finale, Sansa Stark mentions receiving a raven from her brother Jon with a letter that revealed he had bent the knee and pledged his fealty to Daenerys.
Now you can actually see that letter below along with the transcription:
“Sansa,
Cersei Lannister has pledged her forces to our cause as has Daenerys Targaryen. And if we survive this war, I have pledged our force to Daenerys as the rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. We are both coming to organize the defence of the realm”
~ Jon Snow – Warden of the North”
Of course you’ll note that Jon no longer calls himself king but instead the Warden of the North — a title held by the Starks ever since his ancestor Torrhen Stark bent the knee to Aegon I Targaryen.
Another image that was released this week was the book written by High Septon Maynard, which revealed the marriage between Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. This was the book that Gilly was reading at the Citadel when she made the discovery while Samwell was lamenting about the lack of respect he was receiving from the maesters. Sam later translated the full text and figured out that Rhaegar and Lyanna were married.
