In the aftermath of the war between the living and the dead, ‘Game of Thrones’ returns next week with Daenerys Targaryen shifting her attention towards the Iron Throne…
There were always two fights left to play out during the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’.
The first happened in Sunday night’s episode titled ‘The Long Night’ as the Night King led his Army of the Dead to Winterfell in an attempt to snuff out all living creatures in the Known World. His mission failed thanks to Arya Stark and her Valyrian steel dagger that turned the Night King into ice chips and with him, the entire army fell.
Now that the Great War is done, Daenerys Targaryen is anxious to move onto the Last War as she seeks to reclaim the Iron Throne from Cersei Lannister.
“We have won the great war. Now we will win the last war. We’ll rip her out, root and stem.”
~ Daenerys
In the preview for the fourth episode in the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’, we will witness the aftermath of the war between the living and the dead as Jon and Daenerys bury friends and say goodbye to loyal soldiers who gave their lives to defend Winterfell. If you take a close look, it appears you might even spot Ghost, who apparently survived the war despite charging directly into the teeth of the Army of the Dead and never returning.
The preview definitely moves the story forward as Daenerys is wasting no time with her plans to take back the Iron Throne and Cersei is doing everything possible to stop her. There’s no mention of the pending conversation between Daenerys and Jon regarding his true parentage and his rightful claim to the Iron Throne.
For now, take a look at the preview and get ready for the next episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ on Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
