‘Game of Thrones’ returned from a one year hiatus to once again wrap up the Best Drama nod at the 2018 Emmy Awards…
‘Game of Thrones’ has returned to the top of the Emmy Awards.
After sitting out the 2017 show due to the timing of the show’s late debut in the year, ‘Game of Thrones’ came back with a vengeance on Sunday night wrapping up two of the biggest awards including ‘Best Drama’.
This was the third time ‘Game of Thrones’ took home that honor including wins in 2015 and 2016. While nothing is a safe bet, ‘Game of Thrones’ will undoubtedly be the favorite to win a fourth ‘Best Drama’ award after the final season airs in 2019.
In addition to the Best Drama award, ‘Game of Thrones’ also celebrated another big win for Peter Dinklage, who won the Best Supporting Actor in a drama award for the third time.
While ‘Game of Thrones’ took home the biggest award of the night, the rest of the drama categories were split amongst several shows including Thandie Newton winning Best Supporting Actress for her work on ‘Westworld’.
‘The Americans’ was finally recognized for a couple of notable awards following the show’s final season with Matthew Rhys taking home the Best Actor nod as well as the show winning for the Best Writing in a drama series.
