There’s no new footage from the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ but this latest teaser certainly has an ominous vibe in the aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell…
Judging by the latest teaser trailer for the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’, winter came for House Stark.
While there’s no new footage in this video ahead of the season premiere on April 14, this teaser titled ‘aftermath’ gives an ominous look at the ruins of Winterfell presumably after the battle against the dead is finished.
The entire castle is covered in snow and a look around reveals several major pieces of property belonging to the characters who would be at Winterfell when the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ begins.
We see the House Stark banner, tattered and torn. Hidden in the snow amongst the stables is the ‘Hand of the Queen’ pin worn by Tyrion Lannister. We catch a glimpse of Needle — the sword belonging to Arya Stark. A feather blows off a deck, which appears to be the same one that Robert Baratheon left on Lyanna Stark’s grave in the pilot episode of ‘Game of Thrones’. Down below we see the smashed remnants of Bran Stark’s wheelchair. We then see the necklace that adorns Daenerys Targaryen and finally we see Longclaw — the sword of Jon Snow — laying on the ground.
In the shadows of the background as the trailer comes to an end, we see the outline of the Night King, who is coming for every living creature in Westeros as he descends upon the known world for the first time in centuries.
It’s a bleak trailer to say the least as the battle between the living and the dead will undoubtedly dominate much of the first half of the season when ‘Game of Thrones’ returns on Sunday night, April 14 on HBO.
