The college kids at “Gen-V” will return for a second season after “The Boys” spinoff was renewed by Amazon on Thursday…
It’s not easy being a superpower college student but the kids at Godolkin University will be returning for another semester after “Gen-V” — the spinoff from “The Boys” series — was officially renewed for season 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
The first season, which is still currently airing new episodes every Thursday on Amazon Prime, takes a deep dive on a college built for kids juiced up with Compound-V as they either learn how to become a superhero or potentially a television or movie star. Of course, there’s a much more mysterious project at works at the university and a group of superpowered students start to discover there’s a lot more happening at Godolkin than just frat parties and finals.
“Gen-V” takes place between the third and fourth seasons of “The Boys,” which has already wrapped production, although there’s no word on when the show may debut.
“We couldn’t be happier to make a second season of Gen V,” showrunner Michele Fazekas and ‘The Boys’ showrunner Eric Kripke said in a joint statement. “These are characters and stories we’ve grown to love, and we are thrilled to know people feel the same! The writers are already working on the new season—sophomore year is gonna be wild, with all the twists, heart, satire, and exploding genitalia you’ve come to expect from the show.”
“Gen-V” stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi along with appearances throughout the season from Clancy Brown as well as crossovers from “The Boys” including Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Colby Minifie and Claudia Doumit.
“Gen-V” drops new episodes every Thursday on Amazon Prime Video.
