Agent Scully has seen enough of ‘The X-Files’ as Gillian Anderson confirms season 11 will be her last…
Agent Dana Scully has almost left the building.
Gillian Anderson, who has played Agent Scully on ‘The X-Files’ from the very start of the series in 1993, has decided that the upcoming season 11 will be her last time in the role.
“I’ve said from the beginning this is it for me,” Anderson confirmed when talking about the upcoming season of ‘The X-Files’ to TV Guide.
‘The X-Files’ season 11 is just about to kick off with 10 brand new episodes starting on Wednesday night, Jan. 3 on FOX. The series was just revived last year with a limited revival run that ended up with the series being renewed for another installment.
As of now there’s nothing planned beyond ‘The X-Files’ season 11 but creator Chris Carter has said that there are plenty more stories he’d like to tell but no clue whether or not he’d get to tell them. Whether or not, ‘The X-Files’ could go on without Anderson is another question entirely.
‘The X-Files’ returns this Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
