Robert Hardy — best known for his portrayal as Cornelius Fudge from the ‘Harry Potter’ movies — has passed away at the age of 91.
Hardy’s death was confirmed by his children as initially reported by The Guardian in England.
While Hardy was most remembered for his role as the Minister of Magic in the ‘Harry Potter’ films, he had been an actor for more than 50 years in numerous television and film roles over the years.
Hardy also famously played Winston Churchill in a number of productions including the mini-series ‘War and Remembrance’ and he then reprised the role in a TV film from 2015 titled ‘Churchill: 100 Days that Saved Britain.
‘Harry Potter’ creator J.K. Rowling paid tribute to Hardy on Twitter after hearing about his passing.

Hardy is survived by his three children.
