Hayden Christensen will return to play Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming “Star Wars” spinoff series “Ahsoka” on Disney+….
Hayden Christensen is back in the “Star Wars” universe in a big way.
The actor who portrayed Anakin Skywalker and then eventually Darth Vader in 2002’s “Attack of the Clones” and 2005’s “Revenge of the Sith” had already been confirmed to return for an appearance in the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” limited series starring Ewan McGregor but that’s not all.
Now Christensen is reportedly returning to play a part in the upcoming “Star Wars” spinoff series “Ahsoka” starring Rosario Dawson.
While Christensen is expected to play the villainous Darth Vader in “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” it’s more likely that he’ll portray Anakin Skywalker in “Ahsoka” given his ties to the lead character in the series.
In the “Star Wars” animated series “The Clone Wars,” Anakin Skywalker was the Jedi master to Ahsoka Tano before he was eventually seduced by the Dark Side of the Force and transformed into Darth Vader. The events in “Ahsoka” are similar to “The Mandalorian,” which take place approximately five years after “Return of the Jedi” and that means Darth Vader would already be long since dead.
That means there’s a good chance Christensen will be returning to play Anakin Skywalker as a Force Ghost, who will likely encounter his former student Ahsoka Tano somewhere along her journeys as she seeks to find Grand Admiral Thrawn.
There’s no word on how many episodes Christensen will appear in but it looks like he’ll be back in the “Star Wars” universe for quite a while with roles now booked in both “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Ahsoka.”
Both series will debut on Disney+, although there’s no debut date confirmed for either show just yet.
