The first look at the final season of “Homeland” debuted on Monday as Carrie Mathison faces intense scrutiny following seven months as a prisoner in Russia…
The final season of “Homeland” will debut on Showtime on Sunday, February 9 and we’ve got our first look at the last ride for Carrie Mathison, Saul Berenson and the rest of the cast from the award winning series.
At the end of “Homeland” season 7, Carrie (Claire Danes) was handed back over to her mentor Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) after she was held prisoner in a Russian gulag for seven months. The season revolved around a vast Russian conspiracy, which Carrie sought to expose but ultimately she sacrificed herself so that the real witness who could prove the allegations was able to escape the country.
Sadly, Carrie then spent seven months as a prisoner without her medication, which left her in a fragile and barely conscious state by the time she was returned to the United States.
In the first teaser for “Homeland” season 8, Carrie is undergoing an interrogation about an asset that apparently connects back to Saul’s new job as National Security Advisor to President Ralph Walker (Beau Bridges) as he attempts to negotiate a peace treaty in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, Carrie’s vision is hazy at best, especially regarding those seven months she was held prisoner by the Russians.
Take a look a the first teaser for the final season of “Homeland” ahead of its release on Feb. 9 on Showtime.
