“The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman’s upcoming animated series based on his comic book “Invincible” has added even more star power to the voice cast…
“Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman has lined up an all star voice cast to bring his comic book “Invincible” to life as a new animated series at Amazon Prime.
Now if you’ve never read “Invincible” be forewarned that this isn’t your typical superhero comic book — there’s a whole lot of gruesome gore that decorated the pages of Kirkman’s story for 144 issues.
“Invincible” follows the exploits of an unlikely hero named Mark Grayson, who is the half-human son of Omni-Man — a famed hero from the alien race called Viltrumites. It seems Mark’s father came to Earth, fell in love with his mother and stayed to help mankind. Over time, Mark begins to develop powers similar to his father and he begins getting into superheroic exploits of his own all across the universe.
The upcoming animated series on Amazon Prime will feature a huge voice cast including “Walking Dead” alum Steven Yeun voicing Mark Grayson. J.K. Simmons will voice his father, Nolan Grayson aka Omni-Man. Meanwhile, Sandra Oh will play Deborah Grayson, who is Nolan’s wife and Mark’s mother.
Two new cast members announced this past weekend include another “Walking Dead” cast member joining the show as Khary Payton (best known as King Ezekiel on the long running AMC series) and he will voice Black Samson on the show. Meanwhile, Zachary Quinto has also joined the cast as Robot!
Other prominent roles on the “Invincible” series including Gillian Jacobs voicing Atom Eve, Mark Hamill as Art, Zazie Beetz as Amber Bennett, Walton Goggins as Cecil Steadman, and Seth Rogen as Allen the Alien.
There’s no exact word yet when the series will debut but “Invincible” will only be available on Amazon Prime at launch.
