When the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ return for a third sequel, the same person responsible for the first two movies will still be the man in charge.
James Gunn confirmed on Monday that he will return to write and direct ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ after already handling both of those duties on the first two films in the series.

The first ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies was one of the breakout hits of 2014, especially considering that most movie goers weren’t as familiar with the characters as with such comic book stalwarts such as Captain America or Thor.
The beloved first film resulted in a sequel being ordered almost immediately with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ set to land in theaters on May 5.
Now it appears Gunn is already on board to make a third ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film, which will take place after the events in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ when his characters finally interact with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
