Jason Momoa released a fiery statement backing up Ray Fisher over claims of bad treatment during the “Justice League” reshoots…
In the wake of accusations from actor Ray Fisher over claims of mistreatment during “Justice League” reshoots overseen by director Joss Whedon, co-star Jason Momoa has now put forth his own accusations.
Fisher, who played Cyborg in the film originally directed by Zack Snyder but later taken over by Whedon, first went public with his complaints in July. At the time, he claimed the behavior exhibited by Whedon was “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” and he was further empowered by Warner Bros. executives Jon Berg and Geoff Johns.
Warner Bros. eventually launched a formal investigation into the situation but then later stated that Fisher was not cooperating. Fisher then fired back with additional complaints about how the investigation was being handled not to mention key witnesses who were being discounted.
On Monday, Momoa went nuclear with his response to the constant back-and-forth happening between Fisher and Warner Bros. as he took the side of his former “Justice League” co-star while also ripping the studio for releasing casting news involving him that was not authorized.
“THIS SHIT HAS TO STOP AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT,” Momoa wrote on Instagram. “Ray Fisher AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO EXPERIENCED WHAT HAPPEN UNDER THE WATCH OF Warner Bros. Pictures NEEDS PROPER INVESTIGATION.
“I just think it’s fucked up that people released a fake Frosty announcement without my permission to try to distract from Ray Fisher speaking up about the shitty way we were treated on Justice League reshoots. Serious stuff went down. It needs to be investigated and people need to be held accountable.”
Momoa had previously been announced as the voice for the new “Frosty the Snowman” movie that was coming from Warner Bros. but based on this statement it would appear that casting might be in doubt.
Throughout the entire ordeal, Momoa has been one of the most vocal supporters for Fisher ever since he first raised complaints about the way he and the entire cast of “Justice League” were treated during the reshoots.
Momoa was also a leading advocate asking for Warner Bros. to release an alternate version of “Justice League” dubbed “The Snyder Cut,” which would allow Snyder to finish his version of the movie after he was forced off the project following the tragic death of his daughter.
“The Snyder Cut” will finally be released on HBO Max in 2021.
As for Momoa’s complaints, Warner Bros. has stated that the investigation into the alleged mistreatment on the set of “Justice League” will continued but as of yet, no conclusion has been reached.
