‘Jessica Jones’ will come out swinging in season 2.
Two-time Oscar nominated actress Janet McTeer has joined the cast of the Marvel/Netflix series for season 2, which is currently just getting back into production.
McTeer’s part is being kept under wraps but Marvel says that she will “have an enormous impact on Jessica’s life” during season 2.
“We are so fortunate to have an actress of Janet’s talent and stature join what is already an incredible cast,” said Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb. “Our second season of ‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ aims to capture what audiences loved about our first, and Janet will be key to achieving that goal.”
‘Jessica Jones’ stars Krysten Ritter in the lead role with show runner Melissa Rosenberg back in charge following a highly successful first season of the show.
There’s no word on when ‘Jessica Jones’ season 2 will debut but the character will next appear in ‘The Defenders’, which lands on Neflix on August 18.
