Lady Gaga will have her hands full in the upcoming sequel “Joker: Folie À Deux” where she stars opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the highly anticipated follow up to 2019’s “Joker.”
Now the first look at Lady Gaga in her role as Harley Quinn — or more likely her counterpart Dr. Harleen Quinzel — has been revealed.
Very little is known about the movie other than Todd Phillips is returning to direct the sequel, which picks up after Arthur Fleck aka The Joker was admitted to Arkham Asylum following his murderous rampage in the first film. Perhaps the most interesting fact about “Joker: Folie À Deux” thus far is that the film is expected to be at least in part a musical so that should be interesting.
“Joker: Folie À Deux” is due out in theaters on October 4, 2024 and will serve as part of the new DC Elseworlds films, which don’t interact with other movies in the rest of the DC film and television continuity.
Lady Gaga stars alongside Phoenix, who took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his lead role in “The Joker,” and the film will also feature Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson and Zazie Beetz.
