The new standalone ‘Joker’ movie starring Joaquin Phoenix finally has a title and a release date….
The first ever solo Joker movie officially has a title and it’s simply — ‘Joker’ — the film will be released on October 4, 2019.
The new film will be directed by Todd Phillips with a script he co-wrote alongside Scott Silver that will serve as its own individual story separate from the rest of the DC Cinematic Universe.
‘Joker’ “centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of a man disregarded by society is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.”
The new movie will go into production later this year with Phoenix in the starring role with further casting still to be determined.
