Directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix, ‘Joker’ will showcase the creation of Batman’s greatest villain as one man is driven into madness and the result is one of the most psychopathic characters in comic book history.
The new trailer shows flashes of Arthur Fleck’s life as he tries to make other people happy — everyone from his mother to people on the streets — but it appears Gotham City gets the better of him.
Obviously there aren’t many plot details revealed in the new trailer but it’s just enough footage to keep you intrigued to return on October 4 when the movie opens in theaters nationwide.
Pay special attention to a quick glimpse of a moment when Arthur makes a young boy smile as he stands behind a gated entrance — is it possible that kid has just suffered a tragedy and needs a reason to laugh? Perhaps he’s had a dark night just recently…
