Jonah Hill will not be going up against the Dark Knight after the Academy Award nominated actor passed on a role in ‘The Batman’…
‘The Batman’ still needs a villain after talks with Jonah Hill broke down and the Academy Award nominated actor ultimately passed on the role.
Hill had been in conversation with Warner Bros. on a potential role that would see him possibly play either the Riddler or the Penguin in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film ‘The Batman’, which once again reboots the popular franchise with Robert Pattinson taking over in the lead role.
While talks were ongoing, Hill reportedly passed on the role after the two sides were not able to come to an agreement, although it’s not clear if it was more about money or the creative direction with the movie. ‘The Batman’ is expected to explore a younger version of the character during his earliest days putting on the cape and cowl.
According to a separate report, Warner Bros. had also approached Seth Rogen about potentially playing a villain role in ‘The Batman’ but that conversation never got very far.
So now the search continues for an actor to star opposite Pattinson in the lead villain role with several other parts already in place. Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner James Gordon while Zoe Kravitz was just recently cast as Catwoman.
‘The Batman’ will land in theaters on June 25, 2021.
