Jordan Peele will write, direct and produce his next horror film with a release date currently set for 2022 as he follows up “Get Out” and “Us”…
When it comes to horror films, Jordan Peele has become one of the biggest writers, directors and producers in the genre. Now he’s ready to unleash his next terrifying vision for audiences worldwide.
Peele’s new horror film is scheduled for release on July 22, 2022 through Universal.
While details remain scarce, Peele is expected to write, direct and produce the new film, which is part of an overall five year deal he signed with Universal back in 2019.
Peele’s first film “Get Out” was a massive success raking in over $255 million at the box office on just a $4.5 million budget. The movie received rave reviews from critics and went onto win Best Original Screenplay at the 2018 Academy Awards.
He followed that up with the 2019 film “Us” starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o in the lead role. That film also received overwhelmingly positive reviews while taking home over $255 million at the box office.
Obviously, Peele hasn’t revealed much of anything about his next planned horror film but it will certainly become a highly anticipated project as production draws nearer.
Outside of his own writing and directing duties on the upcoming film due out in 2022, Peele also served as an executive producer on the upcoming “Candyman” reboot that’s due out in 2021 from director Nia DaCosta. Peele is also producing a remake of the Wes Craven horror film “The People Under the Stairs.”
