Kathy Bates will return to a familiar stomping ground for American Horror Story season 8 due out later this year on FX…
Kathy Bates is back.
After missing out on American Horror Story: Cult (season 7) due to filming commitments with her short-lived series Disjointed on Netflix, the Academy Award winning actress is returning to the series for season 8.
While there are no details on what role Bates will play, American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that she will be one of the three leads in the new season alongside Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
“Kathy and Sarah Paulson have a lot of great stuff to get to do,” Murphy told EW. “So, with Evan Peters, the three of them are the leads this year.”
Bates has appeared in several past installments of American Horror Story starting with season 3 titled ‘Coven’. Bates then made appearances in every season past that until she booked the gig on Disjointed that kept her from showing up during American Horror Story: Cult.
Now the question remains what will be the plot for American Horror Story season 8 as Murphy has kept quiet on what direction he will take the horror anthology after a politically charged season 7.
