Quentin Tarantino has landed two major stars for his next film as Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio are officially on board…
Quentin Tarantino is re-teaming with two of his favorite past actors for his next project.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are set to star in Tarantino’s ninth film titled ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ from Sony Pictures. Of course, Tarantino is very familiar with both actors after directing Pitt in ‘Inglorious Basterds’ and then working with DiCaprio in ‘Django Unchained’.
‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ takes place in 1969 with DiCaprio playing Rick Dalton, a former star of a Western television series’ with Pitt playing his long time stunt double Cliff Booth. Both actors are struggling to survive in this new age Hollywood but one person they do recognize is Rick’s next door neighbor — Sharon Tate.
“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old,” Tarantino said in a press release. “I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A. and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”
Tarantino’s project will feature the Manson family murders that took place in the late 1960’s, which was infamously known for the murder of Sharon Tate and her unborn child as well as several guests at her house.
‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is set for release on August 9, 2019.
