It’s been a long road for “Locke & Key” to finally land on television but the first trailer for the upcoming series has just dropped…
It’s been a long and complicated road for the “Locke & Key” adaptation to finally make it to television but the series based on comic books by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez will finally arrive on Netflix on February 7.
Ahead of the series debut, Netflix debuted the first trailer on Wednesday along with a teaser at the end of the video taking you to a website — RendellLockeIsDead.com — which then takes you to an unlisted video featuring the first scene from the debut episode.
Here’s the official synopsis from Netflix:
“Locke & Key follows three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.”
The original comics ran from 2008 and 2013 and received critical acclaim, which then led to several adaptations being attempted. A pilot was even shot for a television series on FOX but the show wasn’t picked up. That pilot episode made its way around to conventions and comic book shows, which further fueled the interest in some network giving the show another try.
Eventually, Netflix stepped up to produce the new “Locke & Key” series, which comes in February with a cast that includesJackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke, Connor Jessup as Tyler Locke and Emilia Jones as Kinsey Locke.
