“Loki” will become the first Marvel Studios series to get a second season with the show returning for another run of episodes on Disney+….
“Loki” will be back for more in season 2.
An information packed finale episode that dropped on Wednesday on Disney+ also featured the infamous Marvel Studios post credits scene but this time there wasn’t a teaser for what comes next in the movies or another TV show.
Instead, the revelation was made that “Loki” will return for season 2 as the Tom Hiddleston led show becomes the first Marvel Studios series on Disney+ to actually continue past the first season.
Previous series — “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” — were set up as limited event series with both moving onto feature films after those shows concluded. “WandaVision” star Elizabeth Olsen is expected to carry on her story as Wanda Maximoff in the upcoming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” while “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are expected to reprise their roles in a fourth “Captain America” movie.
As for “Loki” — the season 1 finale ended on a cliffhanger of epic proportions that will undoubtedly carry on with some of the upcoming Marvel films including “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” but now there will also be a second season of the show featuring Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino.
While no formal announcements have been made, it’s expected that the primary cast from the first season of “Loki” will continue on into season 2.
There’s also no exact timeline when “Loki” season 2 might arrive but at least now it’s been officially announced so that production can begin again on the popular series.
The first season is already available on Disney+ and if you missed anything from the show, you can read our recaps from every episode this season!
