In 2009, Margolis began appearing in the AMC series “Breaking Bad” where he portrayed drug kingpin Hector Salamanca, which often times paired him opposite Giancarlo Esposito in the series. Margolis received an Emmy nomination in 2012 for his work on “Breaking Bad.”
He reprised the role as Hector Salamanca for the “Breaking Bad” prequel “Better Call Saul” where he ultimately appeared in 22 episodes over the course of six seasons.
Following news of his death, many of Margolis’ co-stars paid tribute to him on social media including messages from “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston as well as “Better Call Saul” series lead Bob Odenkirk.
A powerful screen presence! Mark made me laugh in the van on the way to set with his jokes and comments and I only hope I have half his energy and focus when “Action” was shouted. Thank you, Mark, and condolences to your family. https://t.co/3jwmjXW75M
