Marvel has made a major change to the upcoming release calendar including huge shifts coming in 2022 and beyond…

Marvel Studios has made major changes to its release calendar starting in 2022 with all of the films being pushed back to later dates next year.

Now to be clear — Marvel isn’t hitting the panic button or making drastic changes because of concerns over theatergoers returning to help with robust box office returns. In fact, Marvel has to be very happy with the recent draw from “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” which has made more than $414 million worldwide thus far.

It turns out, the changes are likely happening to allow filming on many of the upcoming movies to continue or in other cases, to give post-production more time to complete the films. Shifting the release dates on the calendar will give directors and their crews a little bit more breathing room before the films drop in theaters.

The next major Marvel movie “The Eternals” is also trending to make huge waves when that film opens in November, which will then be followed by the Marvel-Sony co-production with “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in December.

After that, Marvel fans will have to wait until May 2022 for another film after “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was pushed back from its original release date in March 2022.

Meanwhile, “Thor: Love and Thunder” will shift from May 2022 until July 8 while “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” moves from July to November 11, 2022.

One other major change announced on Tuesday — the upcoming “Indiana Jones” sequel that will see Harrison Ford reprise his famous role for a fifth time, has also been pushed back almost an entire year. That movie was originally set for release on July 29, 2022 and now the sequel will be released on June 30, 2023.

Here’s the full release calendar changes for Marvel below:

“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” (Disney) moves from 3/25/22 to 5/6/22
