Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ will return for a 10-episode third season on Hulu after the series was officially renewed on Sunday…
Marvel television has taken a lot of hits lately with every single show on Netflix being cancelled ahead of the launch of the Disney streaming service later this year but at least one series has survived on Hulu with ‘Runaways’ being renewed for season 3 on Sunday.
Now it must be noted that Disney owns a 60-percent stake in Hulu after the FOX sale went through last week but it appeared ‘Runaways’ was on its way to being renewed not long after season 2 debuted on the streaming network last year.
“We are so excited to tell more Runaways stories and are so grateful to Marvel, Hulu, our amazing cast and crew and of course our passionate audience,” co-showrunners and executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage said in a joint statement.
“Season three will be a magical time on Runaways, as we deepen our connection to the Marvel universe. We are honored to continue to play in the sandbox created by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona.”
The series based on comic books created by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona follows a group of privileged teenagers, who discover that their parents are part of a network of super villains capable of all sorts of horrendous acts including numerous murders.
The first two seasons of ‘Runaways’ have both been well received by critics and audiences alike and now the show will return for a 10 episode third season with production expected to get underway later this year.
