“Mayans M.C.” will ride again.
The popular series, which was a spinoff from “Sons of Anarchy,” has officially been renewed for season 4 on FX. “Mayans M.C.’ season 3 is currently airing on the network with final two episodes of the season airing on May 4 and May 11.
“I am deeply indebted to everyone at FX and 20th for allowing us to continue to tell the stories of the characters that Kurt [Sutter] and I created and whom our cast and crew took to new heights in season 3,” showrunner and co-creator Elgin James said in a statement.
“In Season 4 we look forward to diving deeper into each character’s truths, exploring the danger of the combustible world they inhabit, and for each writer, cast member and crew to stake out our place as storytellers.”
“Mayans M.C.” season 3 marks the first time that James has been the solo showrunner for the series after Kurt Sutter had a falling out with FX and Disney, which eventually led to him splitting with the show and his overall deal with the studio.
Since that time, Sutter has praised the work James has continued to do on “Mayans M.C.” and now the show will continue on with season 4, expected to debut in 2022.
The current seasons of “Mayans M.C.” has featured a civil war inside the Mayans after the Santo Padre chapter lashed out at the other charters with the latest episodes featuring a tug of war over control of the entire future of the club. The penultimate episode for season 3 airs on Tuesday night with a full recap coming on NerdcoreMovement.com.
