Michelle Williams is negotiating for the lead female role in the upcoming ‘Venom’ movie starring Tom Hardy…
Michelle Williams — best known for her Academy Award nominated roles in ‘Brokeback Mountain’ as well as ‘Manchester By the Sea’ — is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming ‘Venom’ film starring Tom Hardy.
According to reports, Williams would be playing a district attorney in the movie and potentially serve as the love interest for Hardy’s character.
The film is being directed by Ruben Fleischer.
Now the interesting part about the ‘Venom’ movie is that while details are still sketchy on the plot and origin story behind the character in the film, there will be no connection whatsoever to the newly launched ‘Spider-Man’ franchise being shared by Sony and Marvel.
That makes for a lot of questions that still need to be answered because the character of ‘Venom’ originated from an alien costume worn by Spider-Man that eventually bonded with a rival reporter named Eddie Brock before becoming one of the most vile villains in the webslinger’s own rogues gallery. So there’s no telling how this version of ‘Venom’ will be created but it will obviously be something different from the origin story in the comics.
‘Venom’ is set to be released in theaters on October 5, 2018.
