A new trailer for “Billions” season 5 has arrived as the war between Axe and Chuck heats up again with a new power player joining the fight…
After a season spent working with each other, Bobby Axelrod and Chuck Rhoades will be at odds again in “Billions” season 5, although the former doesn’t know that the latter is coming after him just yet. Chuck is determined to bring Axe down once and for all and he goes back to his Brazilian jiu-jitsu roots when describing how he plans to submit Axe — in a legal manner rather than on the mats.
Meanwhile, Axe will also be fighting a new battle with a successful businessman named Mike Prince (played by Corey Stoll), who will be taking plenty of his attention this season and that might give Chuck just the opening he needs.
“From our very first scene, we’re sparring,” Stoll said about his character’s upcoming fight with Bobby Axelrod. “He has that same competitive streak as Axe, but it’s tempered with this drive to do good. There’s a lot of conflict between Prince and other characters, but stronger than that is the fight within himself to reconcile being a capitalist and a good person.”
The new trailer also features several upcoming characters who will be joining “Billions” season 5 including Julianna Marguilies and Frank Grillo not to mention the return of Michael Raymond-James, who plays Brian Connerty’s less than scrupulous brother and it looks like he’ll be getting closer to Kate Sacker.
Check out the new trailer for “Billions” season 5 with the show set to return to Showtime on Sunday night May 3 at 9 p.m. ET and just a reminder that the first seven episodes will air over consecutive weeks with the second half of the season to air later in 2020.
