It appears “Daredevil” will be making his long awaited return with a new series currently in the works at Disney+….
“Daredevil” may soon return to the small screen.
According to multiple reports, Disney+ is currently developing a new series based on The Man Without Fear with Matt Corman and Chris Ord — best known for creating the USA Network series “Covert Affairs” as well as the short lived CW series “Containment” — have been hired as writers and executive producers on the series.
Of course, fans have been calling for “Daredevil” to return ever since Marvel Studios regained the rights to the character following the end of a multi-year pact with Netflix. The previous “Daredevil” series ran for three seasons on the streaming giant before Netflix cancelled all of the Marvel shows after Disney+ was preparing to launch.
Most recently, “Daredevil” — along with all of the other Netflix series such as “Jessica Jones” and “Luke Cage” — finally debuted on Disney+ to join the rest of the Marvel shows on the network.
Add to that, “Daredevil” star Charlie Cox just recently popped up for a brief appearance as attorney Matt Murdock in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” where he was serving as a lawyer for Peter Parker. Vincent D’Onofrio, who portrayed Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin on the series, also made a cameo in the “Hawkeye” limited series on Disney+.
Now it looks like Marvel Studios is ready to revamp the “Daredevil” series, although there’s no word if this new show will be a continuation of the previous series or just involve some of the same characters. Both Cox and D’Onofrio have stated publicly that they would gladly return for another season of “Daredevil” if the opportunity was presented to them.
Marvel has yet to make any formal announcements about a potential series being in development, although it’s entirely possible that could come in July at San Diego Comic Con, which is scheduled to take place for the first time in three years due to the global pandemic.
For now, get excited because a new “Daredevil” series is at least in development at this time with hopes that it will eventually land a full order at Disney+.
