Multi-time Academy Award nominated actor Nick Nolte is the latest addition to the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ series ‘The Mandalorian’ that’s being put together by writer and director Jon Favreau.
Nolte joins a cast that currently includes former ‘Game of Thrones’ star Pedro Pascal and MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano.
There’s no word on the role that Nolte will be playing because much like the first two confirmed actors on the series, Disney and Lucasfilm are keeping everything under wraps about this new ‘Star Wars’ spinoff that will land in the upcoming Disney+ streaming service that launches in late 2019.
Here’s the synopsis for ‘The Mandarlorian’ from Disney:
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
Nolte has starred in dozens of movies and television shows over the years including awards and nominations from the Oscars to the Golden Globes and the Emmys.
Now Nolte will jump into the ‘Star Wars’ universe for his next role in ‘The Mandalorian’ due out in 2019.
